Dungeons and Dragons: A Short History

The game Dungeons and Dragons or D & D is considered to be the father of all role playing and magic games. It was created by Gary Gygaz in 1973. Initially, the game consisted of three booklets: Men and Magic, Monster and Treasure, and Wilderness and Dungeon Adventures. There were three classes: Fighting Man, Magic-User and Cleric. After the original game came out, Gary was joined by Don Kaye, Blume and Arneson. Together they decided to base the game world they had created on the writings of fantasy novelist Jack Vance. Much research was done to prevent putting anything into the game that resembled real magic. The game has undergone several editions in the thirty years it has been in print. The current edition is version 3.5.

How do you play?
